1. What kind of detailing products do you use?
I use an array of products. Ardex, Griots Garage, Meguiars to name a few, but everything I use is professional grade.
2. What is an Acrylic Teflon paint sealant?
Please see our what is JELSEAL page for a complete description.
3. Which is better, carnauba wax or a paint sealant?
That depends on what you’re trying to accomplish with it. Carnauba wax is a natural product that comes from leaves of palm trees in South America. Being that it’s a natural product it’s durability is not as long, only lasting usually a couple of months. You will have to reapply it on a frequent basis to keep your vehicle’s paint protected. Paint Sealants are a synthetic petroleum-based product. Paint sealants are much more durable than carnauba wax and can last up to a year with proper application. Our JELSEAL product also has an acrylic that when applied with a heavy buffer it hardens to a shell-like finish that can last up to a year, you just need to wash it weekly. You can even apply carnauba wax over the top for an added shine.
4. Do you use interior vinyl dressings?
Depends on the vehicle, and the vehicles interior . I typically do not use vinyl dressing on the interior plastic of the car because the dressings “sit” on top of the plastic and that attracts dust and dirt quickly. Most of my customers prefer a “clean” looking interior vs. a shiny one. There is a common misconception that vinyl dressing’s offer UV protection to keep the plastic from fading and cracking. From my experience nothing will protect plastic from the harsh Florida sun and heat, except for keeping it out of the sun. Tinting your windows or using a sunshade to protect your dash are the best methods.
5. Do you use air fresheners in your customer’s cars?
I don’t use air fresheners in any of the cars I detail. I prefer a nice clean smelling car. If there is a smell of some kind in your vehicle, we have options to correct foul odors such as food, smoke, or mold smell. Please see my Ozone eliminator page for more information. I use a mix of Ozone and foggers to absorb and eliminate an odor. Scented air fresheners only mask the problem, and masking problem is not what I’m about.
